कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
।। दुर्योधन उवाच ततोअ<स्त्राणि समस्तानि वरांश्व मनसेप्सितान्
duryodhana uvāca | tato 'strāṇi samastāni varāṁś ca manasepsitān rājann tadā rāmeṇa bhagavataḥ śivāt prāptvā tasya caraṇayoḥ śirasā praṇamya mahātapāḥ paraśurāmo deveśvarāt śivād ājñāṁ gṛhītvā jagāma |
Dijo Duryodhana: «Oh rey, entonces Rāma (Paraśurāma), tras obtener del Bienaventurado Śiva todas las armas divinas y muchos dones anhelados en su corazón, inclinó la cabeza y rindió homenaje a los pies de Śiva. Después, aquel gran asceta Paraśurāma, habiendo recibido el permiso de Śiva, Señor de los dioses, partió.»
दुर्योधन उवाच
Spiritual power and martial power are portrayed as arising from devotion, discipline, and rightful seeking: Paraśurāma gains weapons and boons through Śiva’s grace, and he responds with humility—bowing and taking leave—showing that even great power should be framed by reverence and restraint.
Duryodhana recounts that Paraśurāma (called Rāma) obtained all divine weapons and desired boons from Śiva, offered respectful prostration at Śiva’s feet, received Śiva’s permission, and then departed.
