कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
दुर्योधन उवाच ततः स तपसा चैव दमेन नियमेन च । पूजोपहारबलिभिहोंममन्त्रपुरस्कृतै:
duryodhana uvāca tataḥ sa tapasā caiva damena niyamena ca | pūjopahārabalibhir homamantrapuraskṛtaiḥ ||
Duryodhana dijo: «Después de ello, él—mediante austeridad, dominio de sí y observancias disciplinadas—realizó el culto con ofrendas y presentaciones sacrificiales, poniendo en primer término el homa y la recitación de mantras.»
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse highlights a classical dharmic ideal: spiritual or worldly aims are pursued through tapas (austerity), dama (self-control), and niyama (disciplined observance), expressed outwardly through orderly ritual—worship, offerings, and homa accompanied by mantras—where inner restraint and outer practice reinforce each other.
