Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
When circumstances weaken (the chariot falters) and opponents grow loud, inner steadiness can be restored by invoking a higher power or higher purpose. The verse highlights how divine presence can transform fear and confusion into awe and renewed resolve.
In the battle setting, as the chariot begins to give way and enemies roar, Shiva—described as the mighty Lord—utters a terrifying roar. The moment signals a dramatic divine response meant to counter the enemies’ intimidation and shift the momentum.
