धृतराष्ट्रस्य मूर्च्छा स्त्रीणां च आर्तनादः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Collapse and the Lament of the Palace Women
जयो वापि वधो वापि युध्यमानस्य संयुगे | भवेत् किमत्र चित्र वै युध्यध्वं सर्वतोमुखा:
jayo vāpi vadho vāpi yudhyamānasya saṁyuge | bhavet kim atra citraṁ vai yudhyadhvaṁ sarvatomukhāḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Para quien combate en el choque de la batalla, o llega la victoria—o llega la muerte. ¿Qué tiene eso de sorprendente? Por tanto, volveos hacia todos los rumbos y luchad con firme resolución». Tras la caída de Droṇa, el ejército parece hundido en el duelo; pero Sañjaya recuerda la verdad del campo de guerra: el riesgo y el deber se aceptan, y exhorta a los guerreros a salir del abatimiento y volver a la acción disciplinada.
