Droṇa–Sātyaki Engagement
ततोड्र्जुन:ः शर्रातान् द्रोणस्थावार्य सायकैः । द्रोणमभ्यद्रवद् बाणै्घोररूपैर्महत्तरै:,तब अर्जुनने अपने बाणोंद्वारा द्रोणाचार्यके बाण-समूहोंका निवारण करके बड़े-बड़े भयंकर बाणोंद्वारा उनपर आक्रमण किया
tato 'rjunaḥ śaravrātān droṇasyāvārya sāyakaiḥ | droṇam abhyadravad bāṇair ghorarūpair mahattarैḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Entonces Arjuna, tras contener con sus propias saetas las descargas de flechas de Droṇa, se lanzó contra él y lo atacó con grandes flechas de aspecto terrible.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined action in a morally complex duty: Arjuna must oppose even a revered teacher when the demands of war and obligation require it, while maintaining focus and restraint rather than personal hatred.
Arjuna neutralizes (wards off) Droṇa’s incoming volleys of arrows and then advances to counterattack Droṇa with powerful, fearsome arrows.
