हरिणा चन्दनेनाड्रमुपलिप्य महाभुज: । स्रग्वी चाक्लिष्टवसन: प्राड्मुख: प्राउजलि: स्थित:
sañjaya uvāca |
hariṇā candanenārdram upalipya mahābhujaḥ |
sragvī cākliṣṭavasanaḥ prāṅmukhaḥ prāñjaliḥ sthitaḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Tras ungirse el cuerpo con pasta húmeda de sándalo amarillo, aquel rey de poderosos brazos permaneció en pie, adornado con una guirnalda y vestido con ropas nuevas, limpias e inmaculadas. Mirando al oriente, con las manos juntas en reverencia, se mantuvo sereno—señal de un giro deliberado hacia la pureza ritual, el dominio de sí y la resolución conforme al dharma en medio de las presiones de la guerra.
