Droṇa’s Rebuke to Duryodhana after Jayadratha’s Fall (द्रोणेन दुर्योधनं प्रति प्रत्युक्तिः)
प्रभो! तदनन्तर जिधर अर्जुन गये थे, उसी ओर बड़े जोरका कोलाहल होने लगा, जो सम्पूर्ण शब्दोंसे ऊपर उठकर सुननेवालोंके रोंगटे खड़े किये देता था ।।
sañjaya uvāca | prabho! tadanantaraṃ yatra arjunaḥ gataḥ āsīt, tasyāṃ diśi mahān kolāhalaḥ samajāyata, yaḥ sarvaśabdebhyaḥ samutthāya śrotṝṇāṃ romaharṣaṃ janayāmāsa || arjunasya mahābāho tāvakānāṃ ca dhanvinām | madhye bhāratasainyasya mādhavasya mahāraṇe, mahābāho! tasmin mahāsamare kauravīsenāyāṃ tava dhanurdharāṇāṃ tathā arjunasya sātyakeś ca bhīṣaṇā garjanā śrūyate sma ||
Sañjaya dijo: Oh señor, después de aquello, en la misma dirección adonde había ido Arjuna, se alzó un estruendo inmenso—por encima de todos los demás sonidos—que erizaba el vello de quienes lo oían. En aquella gran batalla, en medio del ejército de los Bhāratas, se escuchó el terrible rugido de Arjuna y de Sātyaki, y también el clamor de tus arqueros dentro del ejército Kaurava: un tumulto sobrecogedor que anunciaba el choque feroz de los campeones y el peso moral de una guerra en la que el valor y el deber son puestos a prueba en medio del caos.
