अत्र कार्य समाधत्स्व प्राप्तकालमरिंदम । स्थाने वा गमने वापि दूरं यातश्न सात्यकि:
sañjaya uvāca |
atra kāryaṃ samādhatsva prāptakālam ariṃdama |
sthāne vā gamane vāpi dūraṃ yātaḥ sa sātyakiḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: “Oh domador de enemigos, fija ahora tu mente en el deber que exige el momento. Decide si debes mantenerte aquí o moverte a otro lugar, pues Sātyaki ya se ha alejado mucho.”
संजय उवाच
In a crisis, dharma often appears as timely, situation-specific duty: one must steady the mind, assess the moment, and choose the action—staying or moving—that best serves responsibility rather than hesitation.
Sanjaya reports urgent counsel to a warrior addressed as ‘ariṃdama’: the situation has shifted because Sātyaki has gone far away, so an immediate decision is needed about whether to hold position or relocate on the battlefield.
