Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Saṃjaya Dialogue; Account of Sātyaki vs Alambusa
यथा सुखेन गच्छेत सात्यकिर्युद्धदुर्मद: । महारथा हि बहवो यतिष्यन्त्यस्य निर्जये
sañjaya uvāca |
yathā sukhena gacchet sātyakir yuddha-durmadaḥ |
mahārathā hi bahavo yatiṣyanty asya nirjaye ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Para que Sātyaki—embriagado por el ardor de la guerra—pueda avanzar con facilidad, (nuestros guerreros deben apremiar y golpear con rapidez); pues muchos grandes combatientes en carro se esforzarán, en verdad, por causarle la derrota.»
संजय उवाच
In the midst of war, the verse highlights coordinated duty: protecting a key ally so he can advance effectively. It underscores collective responsibility and strategic support as part of kṣatriya conduct—victory is pursued not only by individual valor but by organized effort.
Sañjaya describes the tactical situation around Sātyaki. The sense is that Sātyaki’s advance must be made unobstructed, because numerous elite Kaurava chariot-warriors are expected to concentrate their efforts on defeating him.
