द्रोणेनाबद्धकवचो राजा दुर्योधनस्तत: । ययावेकरथेनाजौ हयसंस्कारवित् प्रभो
droṇenābaddha-kavaco rājā duryodhanas tataḥ | yayāv eka-rathenājau haya-saṃskāra-vit prabho ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Entonces el rey Duryodhana, ceñido con la armadura que Droṇa le había ajustado, salió al campo de batalla con un solo carro. Diestro en el adiestramiento y gobierno de los caballos, avanzó—imagen de resolución regia sostenida por pericia marcial y por la autoridad protectora de su maestro, aun cuando el peso moral de la guerra gravita sobre cada acto semejante.
