ऑपन--माज बक। अकाल चतुर्नवतितमो< ध्याय: 84088 और भीमसेनका एवं अश्वुत्थामा और राजा युद्ध तथा घटोत्कचकी मायासे मोहित होकर कौरव-सेनाका पलायन संजय उवाच स्वसैन्यं निहतं दृष्टवा राजा दुर्योधन: स्वयम् । अभ्यधावत संक्रुद्धो भीमसेनमरिंदमम्
sañjaya uvāca | svasainyaṃ nihataṃ dṛṣṭvā rājā duryodhanaḥ svayam | abhyadhāvat saṃkruddho bhīmasenam arindamam ||
Dijo Sañjaya: ¡Oh rey! Al ver diezmado su propio ejército, el rey Duryodhana—encendido de ira—se lanzó él mismo de frente contra Bhīmasena, domador de enemigos.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how a leader’s response to loss can become driven by anger and ego rather than discernment. In the Mahabharata’s ethical frame, such wrath (krodha) clouds judgment and accelerates ruin, even when expressed as personal valor.
Sanjaya reports that Duryodhana, seeing his forces heavily slain, becomes furious and personally rushes to attack Bhima, setting up a direct confrontation amid the broader collapse and confusion of the Kaurava side.
