Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how dharmic order in a warrior society is maintained through ritual protection (svastyayana) and public recognition (praise by bards), even amid war. It suggests that morale, legitimacy, and social cohesion are reinforced by auspicious rites and honor-culture before returning to battle.

After arrangements for safety and well-being are completed, the warriors are blessed with auspicious recitations and then praised by bards. Surrounded by singing and instrumental music, they engage in leisure and entertainment in the camp, marking a brief interlude between phases of fighting.
