Dijo Sañjaya: Aunque fue herido por él, el poderoso no se estremeció; como una montaña permaneció inmóvil. En el ardor del combate, Bhīṣma—hijo de Śāntanu—pagó la afrenta disparando diez flechas en respuesta; pero el fuerte Śveta, aun herido, se mantuvo firme, sin vacilar.
