भीष्मस्य जलप्रार्थना — अर्जुनस्य पर्जन्यास्त्रप्रयोगः — दुर्योधनं प्रति सन्ध्युपदेशः

स विद्धों दशभिरणिस्तोत्रैरिव महाद्विप:
sa viddho daśabhir aṇistotrair iva mahādvipaḥ, vyanadat samare śūraḥ siṃhavad raṇamūrdhani |
Sañjaya dijo: Herido por diez flechas, el héroe bramó en el campo de batalla como un gran elefante atormentado por agudas picas; aun herido, Bhīmasena tronó en la vanguardia como un león, convirtiendo el dolor en resolución sin miedo y anunciando que su deber marcial permanecía intacto en medio del caos de la guerra.
