Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
ब्राह्मणास्तपसा युक्ता यथाशक्ति प्रदायिन: । “उस स्वर्गद्वारकी जो अर्गला (किल्ली) है
brāhmaṇās tapasā yuktā yathāśakti pradāyinaḥ |
Dijo el suegro: «Aquellos brāhmaṇas disciplinados por la austeridad y que dan en caridad según su capacidad son quienes pueden percibir de verdad la “puerta del cielo”. Su cerrojo está forjado con la semilla de la codicia, y la puerta está oculta por el apego; por eso entrar en su interior es sumamente difícil. Sólo los brāhmaṇas ascetas—que han vencido la ira, dominado los sentidos y dan conforme a sus fuerzas—pueden siquiera contemplar esa puerta».
