Babhruvāhana and Dhanaṃjaya’s engagement at Maṇipūra

Educational Q&A

Even within a warrior’s world, dharma is not exhausted by victory or punishment; compassion, respectful conduct toward the grieving, and moral self-scrutiny after violence are presented as higher marks of righteousness.

After consoling the woman (contextually Duḥśalā) and showing kindness, Arjuna embraces her affectionately and then sends her back toward her home, bringing the encounter to a humane and reconciliatory close.
