Abhimanyunidhana-prakāśaḥ — Vasudeva–Kṛṣṇa–Subhadrā–Kuntī śoka-saṃvāda

दिनानि पज्च तद् युद्धमभूत् परमदारुणम् | ततो द्रोण: परिश्रान्तो धृष्टद्युम्नवशं गत:
dināni pañca tad yuddham abhūt paramadāruṇam | tato droṇaḥ pariśrānto dhṛṣṭadyumnavaśaṃ gataḥ |
Durante cinco días ardió aquella batalla con ferocidad extrema. Luego Droṇa, agotado por la tensión, cayó en poder de Dhṛṣṭadyumna y fue muerto—episodio que muestra cómo aun el guerrero más grande, vencido por el cansancio y las circunstancias, queda expuesto a las consecuencias de la guerra y de los votos asumidos tiempo atrás.
