Chapter 6
स तथा बाध्यमानो वै संवर्तेन महीपति: । अन्वगादेव तमृषिं प्राउजलि: सम्प्रसादयन्,इस प्रकार संवर्तके सतानेपर भी राजा मरुत्त हाथ जोड़ उन्हें प्रसन्न करनेके उद्देश्यसे उन महर्षिके पीछे-पीछे चले ही गये
sa tathā bādhyamāno vai saṃvartena mahīpatiḥ | anvagād eva tam ṛṣiṃ prāñjaliḥ samprasādayan |
Aunque Saṁvarta lo obstaculizaba una y otra vez, el rey no se volvió. Con las palmas juntas en reverencia, siguió tras el sabio, procurando ganar su beneplácito.
व्यास उवाच
Even when opposed or tested, one should pursue rightful counsel with humility. The king’s prāñjali posture and continued following show that ethical aims are best approached through reverence, patience, and self-restraint rather than force or pride.
Saṃvarta tries to hinder the king, but the king persists. He follows the sage closely, hands folded, attempting to appease him and obtain his goodwill—signaling the king’s determination to secure guidance despite resistance.
