Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that a householder brāhmaṇa should perform prescribed duties sincerely and within his capacity (yathāśakti), with purity and disciplined observance; such steady dharmic living is said to lead to the attainment of heaven (svarga).

Vāyu is concluding or reinforcing an instruction about proper conduct: after listing or implying a set of rules and observances, he states that a pure brāhmaṇa householder who follows them to the best of his ability, with firm vows and self-control, achieves the heavenly goal.
