Kuntī–Vyāsa Dialogue on Durvāsā’s Boon and Karṇa’s Birth
यानमाच्छादनं भोगान् दासीश्व समलंकृता: । ददौ राजा समुद्दिश्य तयोमत्रोर्महीपति:
vaiśampāyana uvāca | yānam ācchādanaṃ bhogān dāsīś ca samalaṅkṛtāḥ | dadau rājā samuddiśya tayor mātroḥ mahīpatiḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: El rey, señor de la tierra, apartó dones en honor de sus dos madres y otorgó monturas, coberturas y vestiduras, diversos deleites, y sirvientas adornadas con joyas. En aquel ordenado despliegue de generosidad real, la medida de cualquier cosa que un hombre deseaba recibir, esa misma medida se le hacía disponible: imagen de una caridad regida por el deber y la reverencia hacia los mayores.
