Vyāsa’s Inquiry into Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Tapas and the Identification of Vidura with Dharma
गतास्ते क्षत्रधर्मेण शस्त्रपूतां गतिं शुभाम् । यथा दृष्टास्त्वया पुत्रास्तथा कामविहारिण:
gatās te kṣatradharmeṇa śastrapūtāṃ gatiṃ śubhām | yathā dṛṣṭās tvayā putrās tathā kāmavihāriṇaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: «Han partido, conforme al dharma de los kṣatriya, hacia un tránsito auspicioso, purificado por las armas. Tal como tú mismo los contemplaste, así también están tus hijos: en la esfera celeste, libres de vagar a voluntad».
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames death and posthumous destiny through the lens of kṣatriya-dharma: those who meet their end in accordance with warrior duty attain an auspicious state, described as being ‘purified by weapons,’ and are envisioned as enjoying freedom and well-being thereafter.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reassures the listener about the fate of the sons: they have reached a blessed posthumous condition consistent with the warrior code, and—just as the listener had a vision/confirmation of them—they are now depicted as dwelling in heaven with the liberty to move and enjoy as they wish.
