कृत्वाग्नौकरणं पूर्व मन्त्रपूर्व तपोधन । ततो5ग्नये5थ सोमाय वरुणाय च नित्यश:

Transliteration

kṛtvāgnaukaraṇaṃ pūrvaṃ mantrapūrva tapodhana | tato 'gnaye 'tha somāya varuṇāya ca nityaśaḥ ||

Translation

Dijo Bhīṣma: «Oh asceta rico en austeridad, tras haber cumplido primero el rito de encender y establecer el fuego sagrado con la debida recitación de los mantras védicos, debe uno, día tras día, ofrecer las porciones asignadas: a Agni en primer lugar, luego a Soma y después a Varuṇa—manteniendo así el orden prescrito del culto y sosteniendo los apoyos divinos del dharma».
