Transliteration

hṛtaṃ kṛpaṇa-vittaṃ hi rāṣṭraṃ hanti nṛpa-śriyam | dadyāc ca mahato bhogān kṣudhyaṃ praṇudet satām ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dijo: «En verdad, la riqueza arrebatada a los desvalidos destruye el reino y la prosperidad del rey. Por ello, el soberano no debe tomar los bienes de los pobres; antes bien, ha de proveerles abundantes medios de disfrute y ahuyentar de los virtuosos la aflicción del hambre».
