उपच्छन्नं प्रकाशं वा वृत्त्या तान् प्रतिपालयेत् । जिन ब्राह्मणोंका आचरण निन्दित न हो
upacchannaṁ prakāśaṁ vā vṛttyā tān pratipālayet |
Bhishma dijo: «A tales brahmanes se les debe sostener—ya sea de manera discreta o abiertamente—procurándoles un medio de vida y continuando siempre su amparo, sobre todo cuando su conducta es intachable y, sin embargo, padecen por falta de sustento. La intención ética es que los guardianes de la sociedad han de buscar activamente a los merecedores y asegurar su mantenimiento, sin menoscabar su dignidad».
