Educational Q&A

Neglecting those worthy of honor—especially Brahmins associated with learning, ritual, and moral authority—can bring severe consequences; speech, when charged with righteous indignation and curse-power, is portrayed as capable of destroying wrongdoers.

Bhishma warns that if the enemies fail to honor Brahmins, the offended Brahmins may, in anger, utter hostile curse-laden words that could bring about the enemies’ destruction—highlighting the social and ethical importance of proper reverence.
