Brāhmaṇa-pūjā, Haviḥ-dāna, and the Vāsudeva–Pṛthivī Saṃvāda
Chapter 34
Reverence toward the divine, reliance on Vedic guidance, and inner discipline (faith and self-control) enable a person to overcome dangers and hardships; ethical steadiness is presented as the practical means of ‘crossing’ life’s difficult passages.
Bhīṣma concludes a didactic point within the Anuśāsana Parva’s discourse on dharma, stating that those who are devout, faithful, and self-restrained—grounded in Vedic authority—successfully pass through perilous situations.
