अहिंसयित्वा ब्रह्महत्याविधानम् / Brahmahatyā incurred without physical violence
जो ब्राह्मण ऊपर बताये हुए गुणोंसे युक्त होते हैं, उन्हें दिया हुआ दान महान् फल देनेवाला है। गुणवान् एवं सुयोग्य पात्रको दान देनेवाला दाता सहसख्रगुना फल पाता है ।।
prajñāśrutābhyāṁ vṛttena śīlena ca samanvitaḥ | tārayet kulaṁ sarvam eko 'pīha dvijarṣabhaḥ ||
Bhishma dijo: La dádiva ofrecida a un brahmán dotado de las virtudes antes descritas produce un gran fruto; el dador que entrega a un recipiente digno y virtuoso obtiene un fruto mil veces mayor. Más aún: incluso un solo brahmán excelente—provisto de inteligencia clara, saber de las escrituras, conducta recta y buen carácter—si acepta una donación aquí, puede rescatar y elevar a todo el linaje del donante.
