भीष्म उवाच
This line functions as a colophon: it signals the completion of a chapter whose subject is the pramāṇas (authoritative grounds) for Dharma—i.e., how Dharma is to be known and validated within the tradition, especially in the context of teachings on dāna (charitable duty).
Bhīṣma’s discourse reaches a formal chapter-end marker. The text announces that the 162nd chapter—focused on describing the evidences/authorities for Dharma—has concluded within the Dānadharma section of the Anuśāsana Parva.
