अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यह तुष्टि, यह सिद्धि, यह श्रुति, यह स्मृति, भक्तोंकी यह अध्यात्मगति तथा ज्ञानी पुरुषोंकी यह अक्षय प्राप्ति (पुनरावृत्तिरहित मोक्षलाभ) आप ही हैं ।।
yā tuṣṭiḥ yā siddhiḥ yā śrutiḥ yā smṛtiḥ bhaktānām iyam adhyātmagatiḥ tathā jñānināṃ iyam akṣayaprāptiḥ (punarāvṛttirahitaḥ mokṣalābhaḥ) tvam eva asi || yajatāṃ kāmayānānāṃ mūrkhaiḥ vipuladakṣiṇaiḥ | yā gatiḥ yajñaśīlānāṃ sā gatiḥ tvam na saṃśayaḥ ||
Dijo Vāyu-deva: Tú solo eres esa satisfacción y ese logro; tú eres la autoridad de la Śruti (la revelación oída) y la fuerza de la Smṛti (la tradición recordada). Tú eres el destino interior de los devotos, y tú eres la adquisición imperecedera de los sabios: la liberación que no retorna. Incluso para quienes adoran con deseos, realizando sacrificios con dádivas abundantes, cualquier “meta” que alcancen los entregados al yajña, esa meta, sin duda, eres tú.
