अर्चिष्मानर्चित: कुम्भो विशुद्धात्मा विशोधन: । अनिरुद्धो5प्रतिरथ: प्रद्युम्नोडमितविक्रम:
bhīṣma uvāca | arciṣmān arcitaḥ kumbho viśuddhātmā viśodhanaḥ | aniruddho 'pratirathaḥ pradyumno 'mitavikramaḥ ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: Él es radiante, digno de adoración, el vaso que contiene a todos; su propio Ser es perfectamente puro, y Él purifica a los demás. Incontenible e invencible, sin campeón adversario, Él es Pradyumna, de valor inconmensurable.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches that the Divine is simultaneously the cosmic support (kumbhaḥ) and the inner purifier (viśodhanaḥ): devotion and remembrance are presented as ethically transformative, cleansing the heart and strengthening steadfastness through recognition of the Lord’s unrivaled power.
Within Bhishma’s instruction in Anuśāsana Parva, he recites a sequence of divine epithets—praising the Lord’s radiance, worship-worthiness, purity, invincibility, and specific vyūha-forms (Aniruddha, Pradyumna)—as part of a devotional and didactic hymn meant to guide conduct and inner purification.
