द्यौ: सचन्द्रार्कनक्षत्रा खं दिशो भूर्महोदधि: । वासुदेवस्य वीरयेण विधृतानि महात्मन:
dyauḥ sacandrārkanakṣatrā khaṁ diśo bhūr mahodadhiḥ | vāsudevasya vīryeṇa vidhṛtāni mahātmanaḥ ||
Dijo Bhīṣma: Los cielos—con la luna, el sol y las estrellas—y también el firmamento, las diez direcciones, la tierra y el gran océano, todo ello es sostenido por el poder del magnánimo Vāsudeva.
भीष्म उवाच
That the universe—heavenly bodies, space, directions, earth, and ocean—depends on the sustaining power of Vāsudeva; recognizing this fosters devotion, humility, and alignment with dharma rather than ego-driven action.
Bhīṣma, instructing on dharma and higher truths in the Anuśāsana Parva, praises Vāsudeva’s supreme potency by describing him as the support of the entire cosmos.
