Kīrtana for the Removal of Impurity
The verse condemns the refusal to give: withholding wealth, clothing, gold, cows, and food signifies a failure in dāna-dharma. Ethical life is sustained by generosity; persistent non-giving is portrayed as a serious moral deficiency.
Maheśvara is describing a type of person (or group) characterized by miserliness: they do not offer any customary forms of charity—material wealth, clothing, gold, cows, or prepared food—thereby illustrating conduct opposed to dharma.
