Discerning Dharma in Accord with Time
ये न सज्जन्ति कम्मिंश्चित् ते न बद्ध्यन्ति कर्मभि: । प्राणातिपाताद विरता: शीलवन्तो दयान्विता:
ye na sajjanti karmmiṁścit te na baddhyante karmabhiḥ | prāṇātipātād aviratāḥ śīlavanto dayānvitāḥ ||
Mahādeva dijo: Quienes no se aferran a acción alguna no quedan atados por las acciones. Se abstienen de quitar la vida; son personas de buena conducta, dotadas de compasión.
श्रीमहेश्वर उवाच
Freedom from karmic bondage comes through non-attachment to action and through ethical restraint—especially abstaining from harming living beings—together with cultivated character and compassion.
Śrī Maheśvara is delivering a dharma-instruction, describing the qualities of the righteous: they act without clinging, avoid violence, and embody good conduct and mercy.
