Vyuṣṭi (Merit-Outcome) of Honoring Brāhmaṇas: Kṛṣṇa and Durvāsā
yac chrutaṁ yac ca vo dṛṣṭaṁ divi vā yadi vā bhuvi | āścaryaṁ paramaṁ kiñcit tad bhavanto bruvantu me ||
The verse models a dharmic attitude of humble inquiry: one should respectfully ask the wise to share what they have truly heard and seen, especially matters that illuminate the extraordinary workings of the world and moral order.
Vāyu addresses others in a respectful, honorific tone, requesting them to recount any supreme marvel they have witnessed or heard of—whether occurring in heaven or on earth—thereby prompting a didactic or exemplary account to follow.
