विभूषितं पुण्यपवित्रतोयया सदा च जुष्टं नृप जह्लुकन्यया । विभूषितं धर्मभृतां वरिष्ठै- महात्मभिव॑द्लिसमानकल्पै:

Transliteration

vibhūṣitaṃ puṇyapavitratoyayā sadā ca juṣṭaṃ nṛpa jahlukanyayā | vibhūṣitaṃ dharmabhṛtāṃ variṣṭhair mahātmabhir adlisamānakalpaiḥ ||

Translation

Vāsudeva dijo: «Oh rey, aquel lugar estaba engalanado por aguas santas y purificadoras, y era frecuentado sin cesar—como si lo gozara con ternura—por la hija de Jahnu, el río Jāhnavī. Además, lo ennoblecían muchos magnánimos, los más excelsos sostenedores del dharma, cuyo resplandor era como el fuego. Así, la sagrada Jāhnavī, con su corriente meritoria, acrecentaba continuamente la hermosura de aquella región santa».
