This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it teaches how the Mahābhārata self-organizes its narrative into parvas and adhyāyas, and it emphasizes that the story is presented as an ordered, meaningful unfolding—here linked to the Aṃśāvataraṇa theme of divine ‘portions’ descending to restore balance.
The narrator’s label is followed by a formal closing statement: it announces that the sixty-first chapter, titled “Bhārata-sūtra,” within the Ādi Parva’s Aṃśāvataraṇa section, has ended. It functions as a structural marker concluding the chapter.
