Ādi-parva Adhyāya 33: Vāsuki’s Council on Averting the Sarpa-satra
विष्णुना च तदाकाशे वैनतेय: समेयिवान् । तस्य नारायणस्तुष्टस्तेनालौल्येन कर्मणा,उस समय आकाशमें विनतानन्दन गरुड़की भगवान् विष्णुसे भेंट हो गयी। भगवान् नारायण गरुडके लोलुपतारहित पराक्रमसे बहुत संतुष्ट हुए थे
viṣṇunā ca tadākāśe vainateyaḥ sameyivān | tasya nārāyaṇas tuṣṭas tenāloulyena karmaṇā ||
En aquel mismo cielo, Vainateya (Garuḍa) se encontró con Viṣṇu. Nārāyaṇa quedó muy complacido con él, pues su hazaña estaba marcada por un valor intrépido libre de codicia, dando a entender que la fuerza alcanza mérito moral cuando no nace del ansia egoísta.
