Ādi-parva Adhyāya 33: Vāsuki’s Council on Averting the Sarpa-satra
अपीत्वैवामृतं पक्षी परिगृह्माशु निःसृतः । आगच्छदपरिश्रान्त आवार्यार्कप्रभां ततः,उन्होंने स्वयं अमृतको नहीं पीया, केवल उसे लेकर शीघ्रतापूर्वक वहाँसे निकल गये और सूर्यकी प्रभाका तिरस्कार करते हुए बिना थकावटके चले आये
apītvāivāmṛtaṃ pakṣī parigṛhya āśu niḥsṛtaḥ | āgacchad apariśrānta āvāryārkaprabhāṃ tataḥ ||
Sin beber en absoluto el néctar, el alado lo tomó y partió con presteza. Luego, sin desfallecer ni fatigarse, regresó como si eclipsara el resplandor del sol: su determinación estaba marcada por la contención y el propósito, no por la indulgencia.
