Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
तस्मिन् नृपतिशार्टूले प्रविष्टे नगरं पुनः । प्रववर्ष सहस्राक्ष: सस्यानि जनयन् प्रभु:,उन श्रेष्ठ राजाके नगरमें प्रवेश करनेपर भगवान् इन्द्रने वहाँ अन्नका उत्पादन बढ़ानेके लिये पुनः अच्छी वर्षा की
tasmin nṛpatiśārdūle praviṣṭe nagaraṃ punaḥ | pravavarṣa sahasrākṣaḥ sasyāni janayan prabhuḥ ||
Cuando aquel tigre entre los reyes entró de nuevo en la ciudad, el poderoso Indra—el señor de los mil ojos—envió otra vez la lluvia, haciendo prosperar las cosechas.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse reflects the Mahābhārata’s ethic that social well-being depends on harmony between righteous rulership and cosmic/divine order: when dharma is upheld, nature supports life through timely rain and agricultural abundance.
As the exemplary king re-enters the city, Indra sends rain again, specifically to increase the production of crops, signaling renewed prosperity and divine favor for the realm.
