Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
रुरुचे साधिकं सुभ्रूरापतन्ती नभस्तलात् | सौदामिनीव विजश्रष्टा द्योतयन्ती दिशस्त्विषा
ruruce sādhikaṃ subhrūr āpatantī nabhastalāt | saudāminīv vijasraṣṭā dyotayantī diśas tviṣā ||
Vasiṣṭha dijo: «La doncella de hermosas cejas, al descender desde la vasta bóveda del cielo, resplandecía con brillo incomparable. Como un relámpago caído de las nubes, iluminaba todas las direcciones con su fulgor; y su belleza se hacía aún más espléndida al llegar a la tierra.»
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse primarily offers a poetic portrayal rather than a direct moral injunction: extraordinary inner power or auspicious presence is depicted as naturally illuminating its surroundings, suggesting that true excellence becomes evident through its own radiance.
Vasiṣṭha describes a beautiful, fair-browed woman descending from the sky; her brilliance is compared to a lightning bolt, and her glow is said to light up all directions as she comes down to earth.
