The verse asserts that mastery of vidyā (special knowledge or lore) is a source of elevated status and effective power. Ethically, it highlights how knowledge can confer authority and the capacity to influence outcomes—raising the question of whether such power is used with restraint and dharma.
A Gandharva addresses a king and explains why Gandharvas are considered superior to humans: their distinctive knowledge enables them to manifest godlike prowess, placing them on a level not inferior to the devas in terms of displayed power.
