तमद्रिकूटसदृशं विनिकीर्ण भयानकम् | दृष्टवा संहृष्टरोमाणो बभूवुस्तत्र नागरा:,पर्ववशिखरके समान भयानक उस राक्षसको नगरके दरवाजेपर फेंका हुआ देखकर नगरनिवासी मनुष्योंके शरीरमें रोमांच हो आया
tam adrikūṭasadṛśaṁ vinikīrṇa-bhayānakam | dṛṣṭvā saṁhṛṣṭaromāṇo babhūvus tatra nāgarāḥ ||

वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how the sudden appearance of violence and terror in public space destabilizes a community; it implicitly warns that fear spreads quickly and that society’s moral order is tested when confronted with the dreadful and unknown.
