तथैवैकरथो गत्वा दक्षिणामजयद् दिशम् । धनौघं प्रापयामास कुरुराष्ट्र धनंजय:,इसी प्रकार एकमात्र रथसे यात्रा करके धनंजयने दक्षिण दिशापर भी विजय पायी और अपने “धनंजय” नामको सार्थक करते हुए कुरुदेशकी राजधनीमें धनकी राशि पहुँचायी
tathaivaikaratho gatvā dakṣiṇām ajayad diśam | dhanaughaṃ prāpayāmāsa kururāṣṭraṃ dhanaṃjayaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Del mismo modo, viajando con un solo carro, Dhanaṃjaya conquistó también el sur; y, haciendo verdadero su nombre de «vencedor de riquezas», hizo llegar un gran caudal de tesoros a Kururāṣṭra, la capital de los Kuru.
