भीमस्य जलान्वेषणं तथा वनविश्रान्तिः

क्षात्रेण च बलेनास्य नापश्यत् स पराजयम् | हीनं विदित्वा चात्मानं ब्राह्ेण स बलेन तु
kṣātreṇa ca balenāsya nāpaśyat sa parājayam | hīnaṃ viditvā cātmānaṃ brāhmeṇa sa balena tu |
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: Drupada no podía prever la derrota de Droṇa por el mero poder regio y la fuerza marcial. Al saberse inferior en el poder brahmánico—la austeridad y la potencia sagrada—comenzó a vagar por la tierra con el deseo de obtener un hijo poderoso, capaz de vencer a Droṇa. Entretanto, Droṇa sometió a su dominio el reino llamado Ahicchatra, en el norte de Pañcāla.
