Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
पश्यति सम महाबाहुं भीम॑ भीमपराक्रमम् । आर्यकेण च दृष्ट: स पृथाया आर्यकेण च,तब वासुकिने उन नागोंके साथ आकर भयंकर पराक्रमी महाबाहु भीमसेनको देखा। उसी समय नागराज आर्यकने भी उन्हें देखा, जो पृथाके पिता शूरसेनके नाना थे। उन्होंने अपने दौहित्रके दौहित्रको कसकर छातीसे लगा लिया। महायशस्वी नागराज वासुकि भी भीमसेनपर बहुत प्रसन्न हुए और बोले--“इनका कौन-सा प्रिय कार्य किया जाय? इन्हें धन, सोना और रत्नोंकी राशि भेंट की जाय”
paśyati sa mahābāhuṃ bhīmaṃ bhīmaparākramam | āryakeṇa ca dṛṣṭaḥ sa pṛthāyā āryakeṇa ca ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Entonces vio a Bhīma, de brazos poderosos y terrible en su arrojo. En ese mismo instante también lo vio Āryaka, el venerable anciano de los Nāgas ligado al linaje de Pṛthā. Al reconocer a su descendiente, Āryaka lo estrechó contra su pecho. El ilustre rey de los Nāgas, Vāsuki, también quedó muy complacido con Bhīmasena y dijo: «¿Qué servicio grato debemos hacer por él? ¿Hemos de presentarle riquezas—oro y montones de joyas?»
