Adhyaya 89: शौचाचारलक्षणम् — सदाचार, भैक्ष्यचर्या, प्रायश्चित्त, द्रव्यशुद्धि, आशौच-निर्णय

नमस्कारादिकं सर्वं गुरुशुश्रूषणादिकम् वस्त्रशौचविहीनात्मा ह्य् अशुचिर्नात्र संशयः

namaskārādikaṃ sarvaṃ guruśuśrūṣaṇādikam vastraśaucavihīnātmā hy aśucirnātra saṃśayaḥ

Todos los actos, como las salutaciones y demás, e incluso los servicios como atender al Gurú: quien carece en su conducta de la pureza de vestiduras limpias es, en verdad, impuro; no hay duda. Para el pashu (alma atada) que busca la gracia de Pati (Śiva), la limpieza externa e interna juntas sostienen la aptitud para la Śiva-pūjā y la disciplina pāśupata.
