Suta Goswami (narrating Śiva-pūjā conduct as taught in the Linga Purana tradition)
It prescribes sādhaka-discipline: the worshipper should avoid casual shelter and dependence that can introduce distraction, impurity, or subtle bondage (pāśa) during Linga-pūjā.
By implication, Śiva as Pati is the sole refuge; the sādhaka is trained to withdraw reliance on external supports (people, creatures, places) and orient refuge toward the Lord alone.
A practice of non-dependence and guarded conduct (ācāra) for the Pāśupata-oriented devotee—minimizing external contact and supports to protect inner purity and one-pointed worship.
