Suta Goswami (narrating traditional dharma and rites within the Linga Purana discourse)
It frames ancestral satisfaction (śrāddha/tarpaṇa) as part of righteous living that supports Shiva-bhakti; honoring Pitṛs purifies the pashu (individual soul) and steadies it for Shiva-puja and Pashupata discipline.
Indirectly: Shiva-tattva as Pati is upheld through dharma—when the pashu fulfills duties like honoring Pitṛs, the pasha of disorder and neglect is reduced, making the soul fit for Shiva’s grace.
Śrāddha and Pitṛ-tarpaṇa: remembrance and offering to paternal and maternal ancestral lines, including Pitṛ classes like Agniṣvāttas and Barhiṣads.
