Suta Goswami (narrating an internal litany/invocation within the Linga Purana)
It functions as a purification-invocation: by remembering Kapālīśa and the Rudras devoted to Śiva through praṇāma, the worshipper seeks removal of mala (inner impurity) so Linga-pūjā becomes spiritually effective.
Śiva is implied as Pati, the supreme source from whom Rudra-energies (Rudras) emanate; devotion and surrender to Him (śiva-praṇāma) is presented as the means to clear the soul’s obscuration (mala) and loosen pasha.
Śiva-praṇāma (reverential prostration and remembrance) is highlighted as a purificatory limb—aligned with Pāśupata discipline where humility, mantra-remembrance, and inner cleansing precede higher yogic absorption.
