Suta Goswami
It establishes the authoritative setting: Sūta, after hearing the sages, delivers a decisive teaching—preparing the ground for correct understanding of Śiva (Pati) and thus right orientation for Liṅga-upāsanā.
Indirectly: it signals that the coming instruction is “parama”—a highest clarification meant to remove doubt, aligning with Śaiva Siddhānta’s insistence that true knowledge of Pati dispels saṃśaya and loosens pāśa (bondage).
No specific rite is named; the emphasis is on samādhāna (mental composure) and doubt-removal through śāstric instruction—an essential prerequisite for disciplined pūjā and for Pāśupata-yoga practice.
